In an attempt to find the perfect cookie bar recipe I tried yet another recipe last week. They were called “Motherload” cookies and boy were they packed. The recipe included sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies and double chocolate chip cookies. Then caramel was drizzled over the top. Honestly, it was just too much.
However, out of that cookie failure came a recipe that I adore. The double chocolate chip cookie recipe below is modified to add an adult chocolate flavor to them. I use a bit of black onyx cocoa powder. Which makes them look a bit like oreo cookies and adds a nice dark chocolate touch.
Dedcadent Double Chocolate Deluxe Cookie Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup black onyx cocoa powder (note: if you can’t find the black onyx then just use regular cocoa powder but be sure to measure the full 1 1/4 cup total)
